Artist's Comments

Posing for her professional photographer, but watched by several dozen people, awed by her elegance and beauty.

Meiji Jingu Shrine, near Harajuku, Tokyo, Japan.

I am reading "Memoirs of a Geisha" right now and this reminds me of the book so much.

Beautiful details and focus.
A very elegant photo of delicate beauty. :)

Good night, talk about sharp! What lens was this? The look on her face is amazing...everyone else might be entranced, but she doesn't look quite so confident. And that hair is a work of art in and of itself!

i thought japanese brides weren'y meant to smile?

i mean she's not exactly 'beaming' but she is smiling... i thought it was not proper etiquette for japanese brides to smile or something though... but then that could have been some random made up crap i got from somewhere too...

anyway... talking about the actual photograph... i love it. the way it is just her and all about her is awesome. and teh blurred greeny background really suits. nyeah. i like it.

Oh, they do smile. I have plenty of shots of them doing exactly that. But they don't for their pictures.

Beaming was more a commentary on the brightness of her gown than the extent of her smile.

Thank you for your comments! :D

My favorite lens, bar none. EF 200/2.8L. Sharp as a tack, all the time. Even wide open, as this shot was.

She is a work of art. Everything about her. The hair, the makeup and especially the gown. Exquisite.

Hehe. I read that quite a few years ago. Good story, well presented. Always impressed me that it was a piece of fiction written by a man.

Thank you so much! :D
